My name is Anani Ragwala, and I built AnaniTech Global from a smartphone, with no team, no funding, and no shortcuts. If you are here because you are trying to figure out how to survive and build something in this economy, I understand exactly where you are standing.

Where I Started

I grew up in Venda, Limpopo. Rural, poor, and honestly, overlooked. I was bullied. I watched my family struggle financially, and somewhere in that struggle I decided that poverty was not going to be the end of my story. I was obsessed with computers, but my family could not afford one. I could not afford data either, most of the time. So I did the only thing I could do. I built my first websites on a smartphone.

A friend of mine, Manuel McCain, was the one who first showed me how the online world actually works. That conversation changed the direction of my life. From there, I taught myself everything else, alone, on Blogger, starting in 2014.

The Long Road to My First Approval

Nobody told me this when I started, but building something online in South Africa with no capital and no mentor takes a long time. It took me three years of working alone before I got my first Google AdSense approval, in 2017. I still remember that moment. It was proof that the years of learning on a phone, in the middle of load shedding, with limited data, had actually meant something.

The honest truth is that it did not stay easy after that. While I was living in Tembisa, three of my websites got disabled by AdSense for policy violations. Nobody was there to walk me through fixing it. I dealt with it alone, learned exactly what went wrong, and came back stronger. That experience is part of why I am so direct with you now about doing things properly from the start.

The Diploma That Didn't Lead to a Job

I hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a Trade Test. On paper, that should have opened doors. In reality, I could not find employment in that field in South Africa's job market. Education is important, but it is not always the way to success, and I learned that the hard way. Digital work became my alternative path, not because it was easier, but because it was the door that was actually open to me.

I hustled across Gauteng after that. Kempton Park. Tembisa. Soweto. I am based in Savanna City now. Every place taught me something about starting with nothing and figuring it out anyway.

Why AnaniTech Global Exists

This site exists because most of what is online about making money or building digital skills is either confusing, outdated, or built on hype nobody can actually deliver on. From what I have seen, people do not need more information. They need better, more honest information, written by someone who has actually lived through the parts that are hard to explain.

I focus on what is real for South African youth specifically:

• Real opportunities available in South Africa, not recycled international advice
• Preparing for a job market that is changing faster than most people are being told

What Makes This Different

There is a lot of content out there promising quick results. I will be real with you: that is not how any of this works. On this site:

I use AI tools to help with parts of the research, drafting, and editing process on this site. Every article is guided, reviewed, and shaped by me personally, based on my own experience and voice. I believe you deserve to know how something is built, not just what it promises you.

This site is mainly for people in South Africa who are trying to earn or grow with limited resources, trying to understand technology without a technical background, and looking for real opportunities instead of hype. Whether you are just starting out or already testing different paths, the goal is to give you something you can actually use today, on the device you already have.

Looking back, that phone was not a waste of time. It was the beginning of everything I have built. If you are here, you are probably trying to move your own life forward, even in small steps, and I respect that more than you know.
