Privacy Policy

When I started AnaniTech Global, it was just me on a smartphone trying to build something out of nothing. I know what it feels like to not fully understand what happens when you click a website. That is why I want to be straight with you about how this site works, what information gets collected, and why.

Who We Are

AnaniTech Global (ananitechglobal.com) is run by me, Anani Ragwala. This is not a big company with a legal team. It is a South African blog built to help young people learn digital skills and find real income online. This Privacy Policy explains what happens when you visit this site.

Information We Collect

I do not ask you to create an account to read articles on this site. Most of the information collected here is automatic, through cookies and similar technology used by Google services running on this site.

  • Basic usage data, like which pages you visit, how long you stay, and what device or browser you are using
  • Approximate location, usually just your country or city, based on your IP address
  • Information you choose to give me directly, such as your email address, if you contact me through the site or send me a message

I do not collect your ID number, banking details, or anything like that. If any form on this site ever asks for sensitive personal information, treat that as a red flag and contact me directly.

Cookies and Google AdSense

This site is monetized through Google AdSense. That means Google and its advertising partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. This is standard practice, but I believe you deserve to know it is happening.

Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings page, and third-party vendors and ad networks may also have their own opt-out processes.

From what I have seen, most readers never think about this part of the internet. I would rather you know exactly what is running in the background than pretend it is not there.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site. This tells me things like which articles are helpful, where readers are dropping off, and which content is actually reaching people in townships and rural areas the way I intend it to. Google Analytics collects data anonymously and in aggregate. It does not tell me your name or exactly who you are.

How I Use This Information

The honest truth is that I use this data to make the site better and to keep it running through ad revenue. Specifically, I use it to:

  • Understand which topics are actually helping people, so I can write more of what works
  • Improve site speed and mobile experience, since I know most of you are reading this on a phone with limited data
  • Respond to any questions or messages sent to me directly
  • Keep the site compliant with Google AdSense policies, so it stays online and ad-supported for free

I do not sell your personal information to third parties. I am not big enough to have a market for that, and even if I was, that is not the kind of site I set out to build.

Third-Party Links

This site sometimes links out to other websites, resources, courses, or platforms mentioned in articles. Once you click through to a site that is not ananitechglobal.com, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. I always try to link to legitimate resources, but I am not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.

Your Rights Under South African Law

South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you rights over your personal data, including the right to know what is collected about you and the right to request that information be corrected or deleted where applicable. If you are reading this from outside South Africa, similar data protection principles under laws like GDPR may apply depending on your location.

If you want to know more about what data has been collected in relation to you, or you want something removed, reach out through the contact details below, and I will deal with it personally.

Changes to This Policy

This site is still growing, and so is this policy. If I make changes, I will update this page. I will not bury changes or try to sneak anything past you. Check back here if you are ever unsure.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, or about how your information is used on this site, you can reach me directly:

I built this site from a smartphone with no team behind me, and I still run it that way. If you email me, you are emailing me, not a call centre.
